I love living near the sea, Country Road, reading on the beach, sleeping late, a winter thunderstorm and the smell of clean washing. My pet hates are fuzzy lint balls on clothing, people who are late and odd numbers. I’m obsessed with searching the Gumtree for things I don’t need (though I never buy them), my electric clothing defuzzer and celebrity gossip. I can’t live without my GhD, my BlackBerry and me time.

I love subbing, weird I know, but so much so that I dream about proofreading or that there are mistakes in the magazine and I race to work early to check the previous day’s work. I do tap and modern dancing and am busy training for my teachers in tap. I miss London every day but I adore Cape Town. I also love my other half, poetry, boxers, freezocinos (from Caturra, am a little bit obsessive!), my friends, going to the theatre, Harry Potter, champagne, watching sport, Woolies muesli rusks and living on the sea.

I love people who are kind, I find them irresistible. Other things I adore are fresh linen, perfume, slow dancing, pretty dresses, Exclusive Books, hotel pillows and Nina Simone’s haunting voice… it always puts me at ease. I loathe traffic (I get very emotional on the road), stale bread, road bullies, waiting (especially queuing) and crowded spaces. I hope to one day retire somewhere in the countryside reading books, cooking hearty meals and slow dancing to Nina in pretty, pretty frocks!

I love coffee, nougat and nachos; have an obsession with belts, shoes, earrings and vintage clothing; wish I had a miniature pink-piggie as a pet; don’t like people who amble and idle in shopping malls; get a thrill from making people laugh and having a good chuckle myself, and most bizarrely think that my claim to fame is that I have once chopped up a (dead) whale.

I have a foot fetish, which involves needing a lot of shoes… I hate it when people wear sunglasses at night and Crocs (even on children) make me angry! I have a love affair with SA fashion – my new favourite ensemble is an Abigail Betz ruffled tuxedo shirt worn with her silk satin dove-grey bubble skirt – the new take on masculine/feminine.

Having moved from London two years ago where I first developed my obsession with fashion, I have completely fallen in love with Cape Town.  I am inspired by its surroundings, the sea and the beautiful views, but mostly the unique styles and personalities of everyone in this city.  My favorite past time is to read every page of a fashion magazine and looking at style blogs.  Ultimate best designers include Chanel, Celine and Isabel Marant. Also love going to restaurants and traveling as much as I can to new and exciting places.

I love blogging about celebs, talking and writing about women’s issues – especially plus-sized models. I own more than 60 pairs of vintage clip-on earrings and adore summer. I devour magazines and am a die-hard reality show fan, especially Survivor. Having a braai, some fabulous Stellenbosch Pinotage and intense conversations with some awesome friends is all I need to have a good time. I hate it when people are late, racist or homophobic.
